Les Eaux sombres

L’herbier et la photographie s’arrêtent sur le temps pour offrir une durée face à l’éphémère, un trompe-la-mort

au profit d’une permanence. 

Nombre de migrants venus d’Afrique et du Moyen-Orient mènent un combat à mort pour rejoindre l’Europe.

Dans cette lutte, l’eau peut devenir un adversaire redoutable. Mers, lacs, canaux, fleuves ou rivières,

les étendues aquatiques bordent toutes les frontières européennes.
Guidé par l’actualité et la chaîne associative internationale, j’ai récolté pendant deux ans des algues

sur les zones où périssent les migrants. Les herboriser, puis les photographier, comme pour résister à la mort,

offrir une forme de « permanence » aux anonymes disparus.

Dark waters

Herbarium and photography stop on the time to offer a duration in front of the ephemeral, a trompe-la-mort

in favour of a permanence. 

Many migrants from Africa and the Middle East are fighting to the death to reach Europe. In this struggle,

water can become a redouptable opponent. Seas, lakes, canals, rivers, water bodies border all European borders.
Guided by current events and the international association channels, I have been collecting seaweed

for two years in the areas where migrants are perishing. I collected them, then photographed them,

as if to resist death, to offer a form of "permanence" to the anonymous disappeared.
